Rowan’s Room Developmental Society is a registered charity whose main vision is to devote our resources to providing educational, emotional and behavioural supports and services for families whose children cannot thrive in a traditional setting.
This can be due to a diagnosis, or suspected diagnosis, or no diagnosis at all. Some diagnoses include, but aren’t limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Tourette’s, Intellectual Disability, Anxiety, Depression, Learning Disabilities. Using an adapted curriculum for each student, we can focus on their individual strengths while providing the tools they need to navigate any problem areas. With that in mind, our ultimate goal is to help these children eventually find success in an inclusive environment by transitioning at their own pace whenever possible.
If we can help develop coping strategies, emotional intelligence and awareness, then there is potential for more successful inclusion experiences in the mainstream school environment. We believe all children have this potential but not all develop these skills by time they are school aged. We want to be the place that provides that opportunity to reach that potential while providing a calm, sensory friendly and safe environment in which to grow.
